I do know quite a few people who won't return to that place for safety reasons and people who regretted bringing kids down there in the past. I do believe Shaver had some similar experience/story. Never questioned it.

All I said is in all of the years of going to those games that I have never seen any of it and wouldn't allow it to happen if I did. If you feel that's a lie then prove it. I see lots of your fans with kids so clearly there is no general worry from your base for their safety up here. That doesn't mean no event has ever happened.

UW and UO don't like each other and that's apparent, but your exchanges never escalate past average trash talk it seems. For the territorial cup, It's considered a safety issue to wear your colors in their stadium.

My cousins went to BYU - when my aunt/uncle & grandparents went to a BYU/UW game in Seattle they were accosted by several slurs toward the Morman religion. For every story that comes out of Autzen one or more stories can be told from Montlake.

Nothing in any of that diminishes the hate between UW and OU. It doesn't have the history of hate that most in-state rivalries do. Afterall, for the majority of the last 100 years UW so dominated that fans didn't pay any attention to Oregon. Still, the hate isn't new. I could write a book on it stemming all the way back to the 40's and 50's with the lead into the breakup of the PCC and the dirty shit that went back and forth, but this hate today really has nothing to do with that stuff anyway.

Danger? I wouldn't take a family member to Autism. Been shared many times, but my mother was attacked there years ago. Their fans actually throw dog shit at opposing fans and think that form of assault is funny. The worst our fans do? Throw bread at them. It's a classless school of fucking thugs down there and stories mount up every year from returning fans. You'd have to be fucking crazy to take your kids to that game and that's really sad.

You are delusional if you think that the worst that has happened to Oregon fans at Husky stadium is bread crumbs and banter. but you didnt have to wash my vandalized car with Oregon stickers and plates on it. You werent there when i was pushed from behind and told to go back to Oregon, luckily some Washington fans stepped in on that one and me and my girlfriend were safely escorted out without being harassed more.

I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience with fans of any team. Doesn't matter whether it was their place or ours.

As an "un-biased" Pac fan from State...

Ohhhh, that rivalry from UW/UO is very real indeed. Sure yahoos from both cities cause havoc on gameday at each venue, that's what to much liquor does I spose. I recently went to Eugene to actual see the Ducks play the Huskies. Went with 1 Duck, 1 Huskie and myself a Beaver. Was nice not having any skin in the game as well for me. The Huskie fan I was with wore a faded out purple Huskie t-shirt all day. Quite bravado I must say. We went to several Duck tailgaters that day and for the most part the Huskiefan survived with nothing more than light banter from the Duck fans.

But yeah...this rivalry is something "special" both at the venue and online.

No offense but you cited two AZ papers and a blog, of course they are going to go for the UA vs. ASU angle.

I grew up in the Seattle area as a Stanford fan, and now as a Stanford alum I work for one of the AZ schools. I have even worked security in the stadium during a U of A vs. ASU game. The territorial cup has nothing on the vitriol spewed between Huskies and Cougs in my youth, and not even a hint of the hatred between Oregon (rubbing an 11 year win streak in the Husky's faces) and UW (history, the Don James era, at least they have a national championship etc.).

The fact is many (note, not all) Husky fans were insufferable in their heyday and some Oregon fans took the hatred they developed in the days of getting pummeled by the dawgs and have turned it (in many cases) into the exact same chest thumping that many Husky fans did back in the day.

Both sides have points for and against IMHO.

I have never been to Autzen but my dad had a great time last year in his Stanford gear. I have had fun at every stadium in the PAC that I have been to. The only place I have been accosted (and my car keyed) was UW, but that was, in fairness, during the 2nd Bill Walsh era and after he had accused Don James of some shady behavior. I think that was '93 or '94 IIRC, the article hit the Sacramento Bee first and then got picked up by many other west coast papers.
