Really, Cal is like Zona in that every year it looks like they are ready to make another step, every year their offense seems to get more dangerous, and yet you watch them and remember they don't know much about defense and come back down to reality.

Goff is legit and your secondary will have their hands full. I'm just not convinced their defense can stop even a sputtering Texas offense enough to win.

Well, we have three freshmen DB's who are all 6ft to 6.3, and if Cal's offense allows Texas to use them to just man up the receivers, it will be advantage to us. They'll make some bonehead mistakes, but they have the physical ability and pure speed to play man-to-man.

On offense, if Texas can run the ball, it will help tremendously. If not, Cal will win going away. So, in the end I think this game rests on the Cal defense being able to stop the run. Everything else, including Goff, are secondary to that.

As a fun aside with my RL friends on Stanford games the PAC bet goes as follows. Winner buys the loser a polo shirt from the winning team. Loser has to wear that shirt to work and take video evidence of it. Last year I had to teach an entire class at the U of A in a Utah shirt. SMFH I need to learn not to bet Stanford against the utes.
