Just got back from looking at the Pirates board. The fans appear to be...very slightly and VERY cautiously...optimistic. No one figures on winning the division, but they're hopeful that the post-1992, under .500 streak will finally be broken.

and yes the pirates have broken my heart many a season now .. so im cautiously optimistic

Yup, they've broken mine, too.

I may be the ultimate frustrated baseball fan...my 2 favorite teams are the Pirates and the Cleveland Indians.
