No surprise here: the Miami Dolphins are on the verge of an agreement with wide receiver Mike Wallace, according to a person informed of the progress of talks between the sides. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because Wallace has yet to undergo a physical and sign the deal.

Even before the three-day negotiating period, it was clear Wallace was on the Dolphins' radar. Then, as USA TODAY Sports reported on Sunday, the Dolphins spent the weekend talking to the agent for the former Pittsburgh Steeler.

Wallace was undergoing his physical shortly after the gates of free agency opened at 4 p.m. ET, according to the NFL Network and could sign by 6 p.m.
