one can hope, I've been on probably 300 sites in my online-lifetime.

a few big/bigger than this that got sold/bought most were ok, but a few were treated just like cash machines for the new owner(s)- these all happened to be large online ad-based site-agglomerating corporations. lets hope whoever takes SportsHoopla is single private person who just wants to work with GitM and the existing community to keep growing the site without changing the atmosphere.
