I like Shaw and he is one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the league about the triangle thats to Phil Jackson. Shaw should be able to run a better offense than PJ which was one of the slowest and isolation heavy in the league. If the players buy into Shaw then the Nets can have a lot of success next year.
B Scott had one of the worst rosters in the NBA of all time over in Cleveland.Everyone with an opening should want Shaw. In fact, its time franchises hire guys like him instead of retreading a coach for the 3rd time. I'm looking at you Byron Scott
BTW - For the record, I like B. Shaw too, a lot!
The Lakers mucked up that one royally!
Lets see, B Scott takes over an awful Nets team (31-51 the year prior) who had never won their division or made the Finals yet B Scott wins the division title and takes them to back to back Final appearances in just three seasons with the team when the organization had never been to the Finals before and has never returned since.
Then he takes over a pretty bad Hornets team (41-41 the year prior) and in his third season he marks a 56-26 record (The best ever at that point in franchise history) also winning their first ever division title. He then took the defending NBA Champion Spurs to a game 7 in the WC Semifinals before bowing out.
After that B Scott takes over probably one of the most depleted rosters in NBA history after future HOF James and O'Neal exit Cleveland along with West, Jamison, Ilgauskas and Telfair prior to his first game. Still Scott improves on his first year record in his second year from a .232 winning percentage to a .303 winning percentage all the while starting the rookie Klye Irving at PG under a strike shortened season.
Yep I'm sure the problem is Scott, he is just another no talent, wont ever amount to nothing retread.
Just keep ignoring that the Hornets let him go after some shaky performances and team issues and that the Cavs didn't improve at all over the last two seasons. You can pretend Cleveland has no one if you want, but they're not Phoenix. They have talent. They're young but should still show more of an improvement than what they did. The League knows who Scott is. He's an average coach. Once again since you clearly don't understand, teams need to stop hiring guys like him and take a chance on someone new. It's the only way you'll actually find the next great coach.
Maybe you didn't know any better or just missed the info in my post however improving the Cavs record from .202 to .303 is more than JUST NOT IMPROVING AT ALL (A strike shortened season equates to about 6 more wins over an 82 game season, which equates to a 25-57 season record as opposed to the previous year of 19-63, far better my friend especially considering all the roster changes.
Look we obviously disagree here about B. Scott and I don't think he is the second coming of Red or Phil either however you can't start making stuff up about the guy to support your argument, he has improved at every place he has coached, set organization milestones in achieving Division titles and Finals appearances, so it not like he is the bottom of the barrel as you want to elude.
