"The best thing to do is acknowledge that it was stupid... I appreciate their (fans) patience. I know it's a hard situation. I still don't even know the right message because it was just a stupid, useless waste of time... In my mind, it always had to be January in Gary Bettman's mind. Obviously, he had something in his head and he was going to see how far he could take it. So there's really no going up against Gary when he has something in his head. It's exciting to be back. It's the way you that you're supposed to feel. It's not in the board room, so that's good. It's getting back on the ice, and that's the important part."

Miller seems like one of those guys who is quiet most of the time, but who you listen to when he opens his mouth. Well said.

you know. that is the answer I want. thats all I want from every player and owner. thats it.

and kickbacks lots and lots of kickbacks but I would take nothing back as a season ticket holder if the canucks just came out and gave it all to charity.

Yeah, they had a whole press conference yesterday while Miller was at a practice facility.

The guy is very smart indeed, that is why he was involved in the whole process on the player's side during the lockout, even though some thought he was Roberto Luongo. The best/worst thing about him is how passionate he is about the game, and how he wears his emotions on his sleeve. A lot of people harp on him for just being a whiner when he speaks his mind sometimes.

Reading what he says is one thing, but when you listen to him for more than 5 minutes, he starts to sound like the MacGyver stoner everyone knew in High School, who gives you a 20 minute lecture on why you shouldn't throw out your toilet paper roll.

If anyone feels brave enough, here is the whole 20 minute audio interview with Miller about the whole thing:

1/11 Miller on the lockout and the upcoming season

I love what he said.

I agree that every player should come out and say something along these lines. I hope he can perform and bring us to where we need to be.
