Time to see if he'll start making adjustments, or just keep his K rate (which is already over 25%) going higher and higher.

When he bats right, he chases after soooo many low and away pitches for K's. When he bats left, pretty much anything outside is baffling him right now.

Really hope to see him adjust and respond. Please.

Looking strangely similar to Ackley. Starting off with a great two months and then the league makes adjustments and the struggles come. Ackley has yet to be able to recover and figure it out to get back to that level. Will Franklin? It will be interesting to see if he can or if he will go the Ackley route. If not you could be looking at 2nd base battle between the two next spring.

Yeah he hit .286 and .296 in May and June...and he had 19 ks total in 112 abs (1 k per 5.89 ab)

July his avg dip to .234 and the ks went up to 37 in 94 abs (1 k per 2.5 ab)

And so far in August his avg has been Jeff Cirillo esque at .103 with 9 ks in 29 abs (1 k per 3.2 ab)

What I like from Franklin that we didn't see from Ackley when he first came up was some pop in his bat...and also some good patience too

I don't think we have to worry about him losing it and becoming Ackley (although Ackley has started to hit well again lately)

I'm not down on him at all. Far too early to go there.

I'm genuinely curious to see his response to close out the season.

Yeah, no need for him to make any adjustments then.

Overreaction I bet. He's just having a bad month. How could the league figure out Franklin within half of a year?

It's a statement of fact. His K rate has been consistently around 25% which is really not good considering his SLG, and pitchers have consistently been pitching outside to him (particularly low and away when he bats righty) with a lot of success, and he has had no answer for well over a month.

We'll see if he can adjust. I'm as confident in him as I was in Seager when the same thing happened to him.

This is completely normal for most players. I'm not saying anything remotely argumentative here.

I think he and Miller are going to be great building blocks for the team.

It would not be all that difficult actually. The hard part would be in taking the step to have someone on staff to analyze videos of guys at bats, and report back to their teams on guys that have glaring holes ans weaknesses in their game, and what they are.

Simple on the surface, made difficult by the time and effort into scouting that many guys.

These slumps are pretty common for rookies, but the thing I see that Franklin has is great fundamental swing mechanics at the plate. I think Franklin will be fine once he gets more experience with these big league pitchers.

Solid night last night for the kid with his 11th HR on the season. Looks like he may be figuring things out, but too early to tell imo.

Using a 162 game benchmark, he'd be on pace for 26 HR's. Not bad at all.
