The latest on the Lincecum injury

Tim Lincecum was walking without a limp in the clubhouse after the game so the contusion to his right knee does not look serious (x-rays negative). The question is if it will swell up overnight . It looks like the Giants will not take any chances even if there is no swelling and start Petit in the final game of the D-Backs series in Arizona. He seemed pretty confident and relieved answering questions after the game. He said he got lucky as he was hit on the soft part of the knee and not the kneecap. Looks like the Giants dodged a bullet here with one spring game left. Heal up soon Tim.

The latest news this morning is that Lincecum walked into the Giants clubhouse without a limp and there was no reports of swelling in his knee. He said he still felt a lot like last night but was confident he could start Thursday @ D-Backs.

The question is would you sit him out and let Petit who almost pitched a perfect game vs. the D-Backs last year at AT&T Park take his turn just to be safe? Lincecum has had trouble against the D-Backs so giving him the rest and letting Petit start might be the best move.
