Yep. Worst-kept "secret" in this town.

Good guy, hope he lands on his feet somewhere, but he just hasn't been the same since that injury. Might have to hang em up completely in another year or so, unless he really latches on and makes a difference with some desperate team

I hope not, an injury prone 6ft receiver should not be high on their list.
Veteran presence, good hand and will likely be affordable. A team could do a lot worse.

Cruz was part of the boat fiasco, not exactly the wise elder statesman. Not sure what he has left but if he can put his ego aside and sign for cheap he'll be worth taking a flyer for a team that can afford it.

Eh, I think they basically have the exact same player in Jermaine Kearse. They have roughly identical catch per target ratios, are similar size, kind of the same drop rate (Cruz a little higher in 16), and are OKAY at getting open (at least the Cruz of today). Yah Cruz had a monster 1st year, but he was targeted WAY more than Kearse and had the 100 yard TD anomaly to pad his average yards.

Kearse JUST turned 27. Cruz is going to be 31 mid season and has been injured 3 seasons in a row and still really couldn't produce much with a top 5 WR opposite of him.

Only reason I'd want to bring Cruz in is competition, but wouldn't want to go into the season with him. Continuity in NFL (players not getting injured, needing plays off due to age) is HUGE. Seattle has way more pressing needs than tying up ANY money in Cruz.

I'd be fine signing him for $10......... mmm $5, and then releasing prior to the season.

Oh hell no! Don't even joke. I don't even want Jeffrey.

I'm being serious, think about it for a minute:

Guy trying to keep his career going in the league, has history of injuries, Howie low ball's a one year deal to him and bam!

Cruz is a great story...UDFA to $43 mil contract...and got to cash most of it thanks to a pretty good organization. Most teams would've released him a couple of years ago.

If he wants to latch on with a team that needs a vet WR for a good price, he will get another job...if he wants top dollar...he can join Roddy White on that retirement boat.
