The Sabres are 1-0 in games where Vanek scores with 1.9 seconds left to tie the game.

Vanek's was the latest score-tying goal in Buffalo Sabres history. The previous mark stood for just over 30 years. Phil Housley scored the equalizer against Vancouver with just three seconds remaining in the third period on January 7, 1983 (the season before the five-minute overtime period was adopted by the NHL).

Kerry Fraser said it should have been called off/dead twice. I know Kerry is a blow hard but he is 100% on that one. Habs got screwed but the Sabres really did need something for this season :D Boss needs a break here people. jesus

Matty, you know the Habs mystique is no more when they end up getting the royal screwjob from the officials.

Wow, Kenny, that is indeed terrible. Can't believe MacLean kept his composure on the Sens bench.

It sure was Dash. That goal was the difference in the game too.

The only that redeems that video is the classic Bob Cole.

And the puck comes out to the blueline... SCORE!!!

Because I'm kind of a nerd, I was just looking at some old stats.

Interesting tidbit I just came across. In 1983-84 Jacques Goyette scored 170 points in 62 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. What did he do to follow up on such a great campaign?

Nothing.

He couldn't get an offer to play high level hockey ever again after that.

Oh to be Mario's linemate.

Colton Orr extended his goal-scoring streak to seven - seasons, that is, not games - with a tiebreaking goal early in the second period last night

Flames have lost eight straight shootouts - They've taken the coin flip and turned it into a virtual certainty for the opposition.
