Have a good September ladies and gentlemen. I get married in two days and I will be gone until October on a little cruise up to Alaska (with a brief stop in Victoria).

I am getting fat and losing my hair so I figured that I might as well be married too. Plus I am almost 30, I practically have one foot in the grave.

Wish me luck as I take the first step in giving up on the rest of my life. I can already feel committments icy hands tightening around my neck...

Comeds, I went on a cruise once and it was the best vacation I ever had. Left Tampa to the Cayman islands two stops in Mexico and on to New Orleans.

We had a great time.

I have never been but always wondered how I would like them. It seems pretty relaxed to me, especially since the ship leaves from close to me. I grew tired of driving forever to get to places like I had in past years. A family member is taking us so the choice was easy to go. We let her decide where to go and she wanted to go up the eastern coast to Halifax and ports along the way.

I like cruises, in that you can do as much or as little as you like.
and there is ALWAYS food available

also, once your kids are old enoguh, you can dump then in the onboard day camps and actually have a vacation.
the only downside of going with a kid that is that your night will basically end when theirs does.
can't leave them alone in the cabin, and those doors are frickin' loud.

dumb guy > April 22nd here

honeymoon was the greatest, the best > canucks didnt make the playoffs that year

1st anniversary > not so much > went storm watching to a secluded resort/spa in Tofino, BC on vancouver island ... had tickets to game 7 first round against Dallas that I had to give away

ever since that episode Ive guilted my wife into staying local and close to a damn TV if we go anywhere

on my honeymoon in the Mayan Riviera ... we were mostly both tanked but Ill always remember "sabre guy" (I called him that ... i dotn think i ever asked or got his name) who would give me post game updates the next morning of the first round series games against the Flyers at the swim up bar

This thread reminds of a story...in 2009, on the day of game seven of the SCF, there was a story featured in the Post Gazette about a couple that had their wedding planned for that day...a Penguins themed wedding. They were huge Penguin fans, but wouldn't be watching the game. What a bunch of fucktards...your team went to the SCF the year before; schedule it a couple weeks later when you know the playoffs won't be happening. Would have been a deal breaker (as a guest) for me.

I thought that was the second most popular day? Shit is usually cheaper and it's not like it hurts people to take off one day (assuming they aren't done with work on time).
