I am convinced that the DH rule will be adopted by the NL sooner or later... Lets just go through the progressions

1. Houston is moved to the AL
2. Interleague play is played all season(18 games)
3. *** extend the amount of interleague play games(20 games) by 2018
4. *** extend the amount of interleague play games even more(30 games) by 2023
5. *** extend the amount of interleague play games even more(50 games) by 2030
6. *** National league gets tired of having a losing record in interleague play by 2032
7.*** the NL looks for ways to lessen the advantage
8.*** National league adopts the DH rule by 2038
9.***the end of National league/american league-birth to West/East as in basketball by 2050

News report says that in april 2038 the NL adopts the DH rule... we are only 25 years away!!!

Why does the DH put an NL team at a disadvantage?

Simplly because of money... AL teams pay for full time DH... consider them a bench player, Most NL teams dont have a bench player that can rival a full time DH... The 8 starting players are all comparable, that last player is the game changer... to play half your interleague games with a built in disadvantage is not fair... Of course though the better teams do not get as affected by this disadvantage...

The DH is a crime against humanity.

The question is not whether you like it or not... Its the future, you either have to learn to like it, tolerate it, or give up baseball...

Yep, unfortunately. Owners have to park $200million contracts somewhere.:noidea:

Perhaps you are right, but I'm not so sure. I think that a lot of fans like the added strategy of having pitchers hit. I also think that playing with the DH in AL parks and without it in NL parks during interleague play is interesting, since it makes road teams adjust to the home team. Also, it seems to me that on those somewhat rare occasions when a pitcher can help himself with a big hit is pretty exciting.

If the DH comes to the NL, the last bastion of pure baseball left on earth, I will seriously take time to re-evaluate my love of the game. And I'm not saying that lightly. It better not ever happen.

What if they raise the mound back up to even out the hitters advantage :)

I suspect that a lot fans feel that way, particularly long-time NL fans. I also suspect that folks who make the decisions about rules changes know that a lot of fans feel that way.

Read the progression, because your still thinking about baseball today...

...but what worries me is that it's not enough to keep it from happening. In reality, how many of us are really going to leave the game? The more this gets talked about, the more nervous I get!

I am not sure I feel QUITE this strongly, but I would certainly moisten more than a single pillow with my tears of sorrow.

Nothing sadder in all of professional sports than watching 99% of pitchers hit.

It's a joke, and has been for a very long time. 50-100 years ago, it mattered less because the level of specialization that goes on in the pro game today wasn't around.

I'm also fine with never seeing offensive linemen play QB, goalies playing as central forward, or pitchers playing shortstop.

I think a better analogy would be that you are fine with Kobe playing offense and then getting replaced on defense because he sucks at it

Why not have 9 DHs per team and 3 DRs? Who wants to see Posey or Molina clogging up the base-paths? Why have a light-hitting SS slow the offensive charge of a team?

That, too.

Though everything on my list would also qualify as being equally as sad as watching most pitchers hit in professional baseball as well.

That's roughly the same as advocating a single player in one of the most specialized and central positions in all of sports not doing something they almost universally suck at.

Herp derp.
