No wonder I don't recognize some of them. Just curious, have we set the pace for most injured players this season? Just added a rookie DT to the IR this morning.

Here is a list of all of the players on IR and PUP for each team in the league.

NFL Injury Report - CBSSports.com

Looks as if the Colts have about as many guys on those lists as any team in the league, with Washington and GB also having unusually long lists. Of course the number of players on those lists isn't necessarily as meaningful as the quality of the players.

Given all of their injuries, you have to be impressed with how well the Colts have competed. Going into Arrowhead last week and decisively beating KC was no small task.

The Bengals injuries have been far more significant than the Colts...

it has been suggested that injuries seem to be 'up' this year all around the league. When asked about it recently, bill belichick things the new limited practices that the players demanded in the most recent CBA are to blame.

the players got what they wanted in the cba but now it's coming back to bite them?

Hmmm. We have lost our best WR, best TE, 2 best running backs, starting NT, backup NT and so many more that had been starters for us.

Care to expand on this one?:wtf2:

Geno Atkins and Leon Hall. I have no idea who your RB's you lost are.

I am wondering how that list is composed? Seems to me there are a lot of missing players.

You lost two excellent players. We have a plethora. Forgot about Angerer (best inside linebacker). Amad Bradshaw ring any bells? He beat the 49rs almost by himself and then went on IR a couple of days later.

Yeah, after looking at the list, it isn't accurate. The list doesn't include either Ryan Clady of Von Miller on the Broncos, for example.

Vic Ballard is on there. He was actually our starting RB at the beginning of the season. I'd have to check, but I think there are a couple of O-line people missing from our roster. That Thornton kid (rookie LG) is not on IR but has not played since his injury. Forget who he replaced.

I may find the article in the paper about this Nixon kid we picked up. He is a tackle and had never played guard before. Went in a couple of weeks ago and has been outstanding. They list him at 6'6" and 314. If he is 314 I must weigh about 120. That guy has his own zip code.

Your defense was ranked #26 in 2012. It's ranked #19 now. So, you actually got better after you lost those "excellent" defensive players. Just sayin.

I think that speaks well of our GM Grigson and Coach Pagano. We have used a lot of rookies and rejects from other teams to get there.

In my mind, our defense beat KC. Luck was pretty efficient once they had a chance to diagnose what KC was doing on defense, but it took a few 3 and outs by the KC offense for them to get there. Our tackles are not all that bad. It has been the interior of our offense line that have been turnstiles. Maybe this Nixon kid has filled one of the holes though. Guess we picked him up off of Washington's taxi squad.

I never considered Indy to have a good D. That's why I say Cincy losing their 2 best defensive players and still maintaining a top 5 D is more impressive.

I like your team. Think they have a bright future. That being said, we shall agree to disagree. 72 different players have been in the game for us. We all have 53 man rosters. Do the math?

i've always felt the bengals success on defense over a long period of time is more scheme driven than player driven so it doesn't really shock me that they are continuing to do well with atkins and hall on IR. I think Lewis, Zimmer, and the defensive coaching staff there are some of the best in the business on that side of the ball and they have done it with many different mixtures of players.

Cincy's weakness is their offense and that's where the Colts have the upper hand on them. The Bengals have put up some gaudy numbers against some teams, especially at home, but they have a tendency to disappear from week to week also. When teams ramp up what they are doing in January, I'm not sure Cincy's offense is going to get them very far but I guess we will see what happens.

When I look at teams like the Chiefs and the Bengals I marvel at what the Colts have done. One year picking with a 2-14. Be offended if you wish, but these other two teams have been dog shit for years and benefited from drafting ahead of the better teams.

I have relatives in Cincy that claimed to be Colts fans until the last couple of years. Of course I know them to have been dirty Bungles closet watchers and never really Colts fans. Something about Cincy, I suppose.

well, i'm not arguing that the colts have done a good job of maintaining a winning organization but the chiefs and bengals haven't exactly been 'dog shit' for years.

The bengals have now made the playoffs 4 times in the last 5 years and the chiefs are making their 4th appearance in the last 11 years. Not exactly shitty.

They aren't exactly the Bills, Browns, or Raiders, who literally get high draft picks every year.

Yeah, I know. I get to use hyperbole as much as the next poster. :yahoo::laugh3:
