The casual sports fan has no fucking clue who Ben Simmons is

I keep hearing LSU us going to get some kind of bubble help by having Simmons on the squad. Question is why? CBB fans are watching the tourney either way and casual sports fans A. Don't have any idea who Ben Simmons is and B. Watch the tourney only to see how their brackets are doing. Dies anyone really think the guy that only watches CBB in March cares about Simmons?? College Basketball as a whole has fallen off the map in regards to STARS being part of it.

The tournament still is a big deal, but casual fans don't bother following the regular season as much as the golden age from about 20-30 years ago.

The one-and-done and expanded conferences have prevented any sort of STAR POWER.

All the big time basketball gods are now in the NBA.
College Players don't stick around long enough unless they are not good enough to be NBA players.

Yep. In CBB the TEAM us the star. Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas, MSU, Zona, UCLA, Indiana, Louisville etc etc the players themselves are pretty irrelevant
