Yes - it is hard to find CD - which is why the Broncos need a development guy to supplement. If Sambrailo could do it - they would have left him there - Stephenson is actually a better prospect at LT - IMO.

I imagine they just might have left Sambrailo at LT had he remained healthy.

I think if called upon Sambrailo would do alright. The last couple of games before his injury he was starting to look like he was getting it a bit more. I'm not saying he would be a top-5 LT but hey we are talking about the back up Tackle here so if you have 2 guys that are top-5 on your team then you are doing something wrong if one of them is on your bench. My guess is if say Okung goes down that they would put Stephenson at LT and then put our back up tackle at the Right spot. I would say move Sambrailo to RT but I think the more guys you have to move around the worse things will get.

My guess is 2 of our top 5 picks in this draft will actually go to the OL. We have very little depth right now so good time to start building up some rookies.

I don't think Sambrailo was drafted with the intent of being put at LT, at least immediately

Even though it seems like a lifetime ago, Ryan Clady was the LT, and while the plan might have been for Sambrailo to play on the end, I think RT was more of what Elway had in mind

Maybe I am wrong, but that was the impression I had when we drafted him

I guess we knew Clady was entering a time when his salary was going to be somewhat burdensome, and the plan for Sambrailo might have been to groom him to take over ..

Either way, I don't think it is a knock on Sam that he is not going to be the starting LT going into next season

Sambrailo as a RT ............... Why does this staff think this ? They are studs . Right ? Right DE usually are bull rushing strong studs ....so am I wrong? IO thought Clark was not a RT ..seems the staff thought about it for a whooping few seconds last year and agreed ..

Sambrailo's feet are dancer quick, but his arms are too short to be a tackle in this NFL - his feet don't make up for the lack of arm length. I think he can be an all pro OG in the Broncos system - and so can Max Garcia.

I like where they have him but I do also like that he offers some versatility say injuries do hit the team. Much easier to find a quality guard to step in than to find a quality tackle if an injury happens.

This is very true. I also agree Sambrailo can move outside in emergencies. He is a natural OG. Since Tackles are hard to find - the Broncos need to stockpile them like they have pass rushers.
