The Elway to Marino was a great show. What struck me is the shitload of awesome players in that draft.

Geno smith, when asked how many wins he predicts for the Jets in 2013

he said his prison shrink told him a story about hostages forced to live in a wooden box, no bigger than a coffin, for a year...and how 1 guy made friends with roaches to pass the time

he compared his stint in jail to a hostage situation

then ofcourse 'bragged' about how he wanted to take his kids around the world and couldnt

with his sunglasses on

indoors

Insane first round. Darrell green last pick of that round.

Hadn't realized that Seattle took Curt Warner over Dickerson, and the Steelers really fucked up with Marino, guy was dying to land there

had this conversation friday outside with some coworkers...

wasnt marino the first "marijuana guy"...in other words, his use caused him to drop in the draft?

i think it was pot...may be wrong, but if it was he has to be the first real bonehead 'bypassing' next to warren sapp, for the same

Yeah, like Tony Eason.

Funny they mentioned Ken Obrien had a solid career, but looked worse cause he was always the guy that went before Jim Kelly and Marino

Yup, even coke, but it was proven they were completely false rumors and they interviewed a lot of GMs that said those rumors ruined some of their careers and organizations cause they all knew Marino would be great

its funny dirt, im scanning the 84 draft

lots of long careers and some names, but not one guy aside from fryar you could make a case for the HOF (and hes a tough one)...

at least the 82 draft had a few HOFers

New England offered the best package for Elway but Acorsi wouldn't deal him to a division opponent

And Marino was positive he was going to New England and was shocked they took Eason and more mortified when O'brien went before him

But you root for Paul Pierce...

Ok, and?

He's not a flopper, I don't care what the haters want to say about his injury in the Finals... Dude is not a shameless flopper..

Always loved Joey Browner, he went in 83

Was he a borderline HOF?

With the seventh pick the Eagles pass on Jim Kelly, Ken, O'Brien, Dan Marino, Bruce Matthews and Tony Eason to take Michael Haddix. 30 years later and all of Philadelphia is still asking who the hell is Michael Haddix

I can still see Tony Eason just getting broke in two by Rulon Jones in the 86 Playoffs. And after getting crushed by the Bears in the SB the previous year, he was done after that.
