Ross: $6.3/1yr
Lopez: asked $2.875, offered $2.0 diff = 875k
Chez: $4.8/1yr
Fonty: $1.05/1yr

Casilla: $1.3/1yr

So if my math is right, and assuming Lopez at $2.4 and Torres at $2.2, I've got the payroll at $117.8MM including 27 players. This includes 11 players under contract before today (Zeets, Timmay, Gamer, Huff, Cainer, Miggy, Weez, DeRosa, Franchez, Affeldt, The Bat), the 7 arb players, and 9 players who have not reached arb status (Pablo, Ishi, Romo, Nate, Burriss, Whitey, Runz, Bum, Posey). Not sure how the payroll is calculated, if it's for the 40 man, then you have to figure a couple of MM for the other 13 players (Tanner, Sosa, Rolo, Peguero, Neal, Hinshaw, Gillespie, Ford, Edlefsen, J Casilla, Adrianza, Belt*, Brown*)

*my assumptions to replace Ray and Uselez on the 40 man.

Wasn't somebody on the DumDum board whining about how "cheap" the Giants are and that there is "no way the payroll can be $120MM?"

The other day I had one of those, "Holy shit, I can't believe the Giants won the World Series" moments again. I imagine many of you have experienced that same feeling several times this offseason.

This was followed by a much less dreamy and more pratical reflection of, "How in the hell did the Giants win the world series with the payroll mistakes they made with Zito and Rowand?"

Nothing can compare to the feeling when the Giants got that final out against the Rangers. But the day Zito's contract officially runs out will be a day of rejoicing indeed.

I'm surprised the Ramirez didn't get more. After making $1.1 million last year and the type of season he had, I was expecting about $2.0 million. I know bullpen arms don't usually make much, but Casilla went from $400,000 to $1.3 million.
