It seems like the Eastern Conference has more top heavy teams but the West is much deeper, therefore better - Eastern Conference seems to be more of an offensive style game while the teams in the West play a tighter, defensive style

IMO it's more accurate to say that maddog was his obsession. The guy must have always been just one post away from going into full on troll mode, but from what I remember, Dup was actually a decent poster before maddog showed up.

Dup was a decent poster before maddog came on the scene, no doubt and I'd be lying if I didn't say I enjoyed some of their battles at the swamp. The problem was it wasn't limited to just one thread and that's when it started to get out of control.

I honestly don't even remember dup. Then again, I didn't hang out on the main board like ya'll did. I mainly stayed on the Wings board and a few other team boards.

We lost a lot of good Wings posters when ESPN went robust.

Tried so hard to get 4ever, avsuc, etc etc to come over but they just weren't interested.

I was young and naive at ESPN...so I tried to mediate. Shoulda just enjoyed the fire like everyone else.


In regard to the real topic: there's a lot of underachieving talent in the East right now. NOW that is. Wayyyy too early to be writing off teams like Philly, NYR, Wash. Simply too much talent. Heck, some of the good teams out West at the moment weren't really *expected* to have this hot of a start (SJ, COL), so I expect some evening out on both sides. With teams like Columbus on the up and up, and the addition of Detroit and removal of Winnipeg, still gonna go with the East as stronger...albeit not right now.
