I tried giving this show another go, I made it to halfway through Fish. I have never had a TV show give me anxiety the way this one does. It is so well done.

i just dont consider it a binge, at least not for me... i think i max out at 2 episodes that i can watch in a day.... its too slow/heavy of a show... with everyone just being crazy people...

maybe a slow binge, where you can watch the whole season in a week is good... but watching it all in a day or 2 is too hard... IMO

Ok that I can agree with.

I more was arguing from the stand point of dropping it at once rather than week to week eps.

I think doing 1 ep a week would be very detrimental to the show.

I can completely see only wanting to do an Ep or 2 at a time.

I agree 100%. Generally I have watched one or two episodes at a time. In the middle of this season one night I watched three, but they were all short-ish and not so hectic.

Then again I am not much of a binge watcher. I dont really want to watch 4-5+ hours of anything in a day.

Wow…

This thread got hijacked.

Anyway, not a huge fan of this season. Still VERY well produced, but it got a bit too deep in industry. And that ending was fucking horrible. The first 2 seasons were engrossing, dramatic, AND a love letter to food and the culinary industry. This season was just hanging out in the culinary industry. It was a bit lusty at the beginning, but then it just got weird. And no story lines were resolved. Just that fucking closing shot that pisses me off more than anything in TV shows.
I just finished watching S3... I was dropping in to post my thoughts and I think you already nailed it.

I was disappointed, too. This season lost momentum, it was too repetitive and stuck in the mud.

A lot of the conversation and patter was still great, but it either went nowhere or circled ground that had already been trod in past seasons.

And way, way too many quick cut memory flashbacks. We get it... these characters are haunted by their various pasts. And it's psychologically insightful that pangs of memory often intrude on our present lives and impact our behavior. Still... they're beating this horse into the ground.

There were still moments of excellence. Jamie Lee Curtis again stole the show in the best episode of the season... her performance as a undiagnosed manic depressive alcoholic matriarch has been legendary... just amazing stuff.

I'm still a big supporter of this show. It's unique and different and I'm still ready and willing to watch S4.

But they gotta move things forward. The fact that they never got close to resolving the big cliffhanger from S2 (what will become of Carmie and Claire's relationship?) in S3 says it all about how lost and meandering this past season was.

I agree with the sentiment being shared. At the same time, two all time episodes for me. Ice Chips (episode 8) and Napkins (episode 6 and Tina’s back story) I thought were very good episodes. At the same time, season 2 was just incredible. In some ways, there was no way they could live up to that but it really could have been better.

The whole season just seemed like filler without much furtherance of the main story line.
