Levis was shockingly bad. It's hard for me to understand how teams have film of that game we played against Pittsburgh, and they don't recreate the same thing. You saw Rudolph do it when he entered the game. Just throw underneath routes and short crossers. We either play soft zone and give it to you or are too slow in man coverage to stay with guys. Either way, you're getting the passing yards, a few missed tackles and the potential for a big gain each time.

I don't think this saves Lou. It shows you exactly the issues that masked everything in 21/22 and honestly - this version is even worse.

Turnovers hide a ton, and it still took 5 turnovers, and still gave up 27 points, and a ton of yards. Guys missing tackles. Guys looking very slow. Guys looking out of sync. God Bless Lou, but there is 0% chance he can return if they are going to keep Burrow's window open. You can't continue to score 30+ and give up 30+.

As an aside - do you think Tenn is tired of seeing the Bengals on their schedule...even at 'home'?

They beat the living shit out of last year, so I don't think it bothers them much especially considering tennessee had nothing to play for yesterday except draft position.

Right - 1 win in the last 5 or 6 meetings, I believe. Including several? in the post-season...for certain that one in '21.

Tenn wrs aren’t burners so the latter wasn’t an option for them

I don't think you fully understand the ineptness of our defense and angles and tackling.
They did find some success with the underneath routes, and missed tackles.

They just didn't stick with it, and those balls that were thrown in the areas that wouldn't be underneath routes, were thrown to defenders...1 exception would be the Hilton INT, IIRC, where it was tipped by the WR (though badly thrown) and Hilton caught the tipped pass. That was a crossing route under.

From ESPN on the run game: ...As running back Chase Brown has become the focal point of the run game, Cincinnati's ground attack has improved. In the past three games, it ranks fifth best in that category (expected points per rush). During that span, Brown is sixth among running backs in first downs per carry (31.4%). -- Ben Baby

imagine we saw a guy running for a ton of yards in college, teaching the offense over the span of a few years and it actually working out for us. ok, I will throw our coaches a bone for that one.

And ... Brown works well for the current IOL setup. He gets the ball and just GOES...Mixon was so much of a dancer...and despite his yards overall, his rushing win% and all that is still very poor.

But, Mixon is a better fit for what they do in Texas...so good for them and good for him. However, for those who think he would have been doing the same thing here, they would be sadly disappointed...

Mixon also gets to enjoy a division schedule that doesn't involve PitX2, BalX2, even the cleX2 games can get pretty intense, but those other 4 games feel like it's good that the Bengals simply survive.
