Would you like Steve Staios in return? :)

For a guy admitting still coming to terms with the fact he’s part of the Calgary Flames, he’s already exceeding expectations.

“It still feels a little bit odd pulling the red jersey on, but I’m coming around to it,” Morrison admitted after Tuesday night’s 5-4 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers. “I’m appreciative this team gave me a chance. Things didn’t work out in Vancouver, but so far things have gone well.”

Well? Try stupendous. Outstanding. Unbelievable.

Morrison scored two more goals, once shorthanded and once on the powerplay, to get him back the point-per-game pace, with nine points (3-6-9) in as many outings.

Not bad for a player signed just before the season started and shortly after he was released from a tryout with the Vancouver Canucks.

he never got a sniff playing with the Sedins in the preseason which i thought should have happened considering Tamby was given time with them ... either a regular shift or PP time

Bmo is smart enough to have played with them and had the past experience of letting 2 linemates monopolize the puck like the Sedins do now

I really think this was an AV thing and thats troubling because I think he didnt want Bmos veteran presence (and voice) talking over him in the locker-room

I really do think that was a big factor. No link to the old guard.
there were a couple of pre-season games where BMo was among the best players on the ice,
so it was pretty odd to see him cut loose over Desbiens, or even Schaefer.

the question is... where would he fit on OUR top 6?
(beside the month long band-aid)

I think that was the biggest factor. If he wasn't going to be with the Sedins he was probably destined for 4th line center position. Basically the role Tambi is doing now.

When Burrows comes back word is that Schaeffer will be Moose bound. He had only 1 shift in the 3rd last night. And yes, he scored on it.

Schaefer and Desbiens I can kinda see because I dont see Bmo fitting in and playing on the 4th line the way AV wants the 4th line to play but then again Bmo-Schaefer-Desbiens is alot more appealing to me then Glass slotted in there and then you could always alternate Malhotra for a line juggle to get things going if they were stale

It was basically between Tambellini and Bmo and Tamby probably stayed because he can be waived when Burrows gets healthy. Bmo on the second unit power play would have been good ... its so ragged right now ... plus Bmo could fit in killing penalties with the versatility that everyone talked about during preseason ...

I agree Puck. I know you guys didn't dress many regulars in the preseason game with the Sharks, but BMo seemed to stand out like a sore thumb (in a good way) for the Canucks.

Maybe they didn't want any more links to the West Coast Expense??? ;-)~

By the way, I think that title now belongs to the Sharks!

Good for B Mo. He's getting up there in age and it's kool to see that he's having fun again. Definitely making the most of his time in Calgary so far.
