Oh my holy hell. That needs to be in my body. Looks very similar to the Pasties that are common around here:

I remember Czech grandma up in Tabor, South Dakota making them. Oh My!!
.
I make them but haven't for a while, they are great right out the oven but hot as hell on the roof of your mouth.
How about those red hotdogs that stain the bun red - one of my daughter's favorites.

They serve Fairbury brand red hot dogs at the Husker bar here in DC...a little taste of home. They also have Elk Creek Water available

Fairbury and Wimmers both have those red hotdogs that are great tasting. Now my whole family like Nathan's after we took a trip to New York New York in Las Vegas. I used to get free tickets to the Lady Husker basketball games and that's where my youngest daughter just had to have 2 hotdogs per game. It seemed like the daughter got a free t-shirt tossed to her each game we went to.

And in the winter, it's "Temperature Tuesdays" where the price of a Runza is whatever the temperature is at 6 am.

Surprised I had never heard of it. My grandmother on my mom's side was Polish and the other side was all Hungarian and Slavic. Grew up on meals like that

I'm in the same boat as you -- I grew up on potato pancakes, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, etc. but have never heard of a runza.

Now i want to try one.

keep in mind the last time you ate fast food and saw the picture on the wall and then what you got.

and I agree it was probably different in stadium. the bread was a bit doughy and mine had a lot more cabbage and kraut than those pics. I don't remember cheese

The ones in the stadium are awful. Soggy bread and I think they are the original Runzas so no cheese.

There aren't any good strip clubs in Nebraska. Or so I've heard...
yeah one girl told me the Nebraska ones are non contact. im used to Oregon and Washington where the girls are in your lap and smacking you in the face with the twins.

Love all those. Add in some goulash and pierogies and I think you could just rinse and repeat that menu and I'd be satisfied

Pierogies. Can't believe I forgot those. When my grandma was unable to cook anymore. I think I lost about 20 lbs the next month.

I thought that was pretty classy of Mark Helfrich to bring the flowers out to the 27 and place them in honor of Sam.... Hats off to you gentlemen.

Amazing. I'm pumped full of testosterone, but I think I might have cried if I saw that.

I took the trip out for the game and it was amazing, outside the obvious thing. The fans were the nicest fans I have ever encountered on the road. the tailgate or walkgate as I called it since all we did was bounce from one area to the next and everyone was inviting was so much fun.
The stadium was beautiful. your fans were great. all around A+ trip.

except the Runza.

honestly...and ill be banned from the Nebraska board for saying this

Runzas fucking suck. I always get burgers there

I've never had a burger at Runza, and I've heard they're pretty good. I can get a burger anywhere. The same is not true with a Runza
