They are headed to Texas this week. Goodyear tires should be an issue. AGAIN.
NASCAR always wants a "balance." To "put it in the drivers hands." See also; have crappy tires. The last time that Goodyear had a decent tire that lasted a full fuel run was about 2002. After that, they stated messing around with things. And performance started falling off a cliff.
If you're a fan of racing, you want the tires to fall off before the fuel runs out. Because that brings in tire management, which separates truly skilled drivers and engineers from the rest.
I really never understood why practice is not ran the same time as the race will be. The race will be finished at this time on sunday. Shouldn't practice be ran earlier in the day around 3 or 4?
