LB pinch hitting for Murphy in that situation was the play to have been made. Would then have had Gentry in CF in the top of the 9th with better chance that Nathan's inning would have been less stressful.

What is Jackie Moore doing sitting next to Wash? Surely with Murphy due to hit in the bottom of the 8th that wheels had to be turning as to PH options ... as was well as defensive options which are fairly set piece to get the better defense into the game?

Even if you let Murphy bat ... there is no reason for him to be in LF with the game on the line.
