If you're gonna tank you gotta find ways to lose games.

Assuming we're in the shitter come all star break, I'm thinking of who's got value that could bring us some pieces back to get us on the right track. Darvish is the obvious answer. He alone could bring in two or three important pieces alone. I think Lucroy rebounds nicely by then. He could bring a nice prospect or two back.

They should trade any and all upcoming FAs that do not have a future with the club. I love Yu, but he's not gonna wanna stay here, so we gotta move him, Lucroy, Gomez and maybe a couple of other pieces if they play well.

I just don't see Gomez or Napoli having much or any value. Gomez might rebound and if he does than obviously you deal him, but I'm not betting on it.

He might be a waiver trade later, but someone could use him as a 4th OF bat.

Gomez that is...fuck Napoli

I can't be mad at Napoli ever.
He's so trash at this point. I want him on the bench even if they plan to tank. Already talk that he should play over Joey if Beltre ever gets healthy.

Kozma doesn't even look like a major league hitter in the box.

Yeah, he sucks, but this team isn't going anywhere and he's a legend in my mind. They definitely need to be willing to let him go to the bench if Beltre gets healthy.

Speaking of Joey for all the talk of his improvement (and he certainly has improved) his K rate is still 39% and hes still hitting just .204. His BABIP is just .234 so you could certainly say he's been unlucky. Just thinking someone said Gallo had "arrived" and I couldn't help but laugh. Kid still has a lot of work to do.

He's been our most productive player even with the Ks. Sure the K rate spiked, but it was after a week of facing guys with high K%. He needs everyday reps. Also the BABIP is naturally going to be lower, because of his higher flyball pct. I am happy with his progression this year.

I agree. I'm happy with his progress so far.

The worst thing for him would be to sit him down 2-3 times a week for Napoli to get 600PAs. Hopefully JD sees and understand this.

We'll see. At this point he's handling himself well enough that he's only going to get better seeing more big league pitching. That wasn't so his last couple of trips up here.

He's as much of a black hole in this lineup as Prince was at his worst.

Not arguing with you and that doesn't detract from what I'm saying. Prince never damn near carried this team to a World Series title.
