WTH is Hines Wards' role on SNF exactly? I don't get it.

2nd quarter drives

1st drive - 3 straight runs, Kaepernick incomplete to Boldin on 3rd and 14.

2nd drive - Kaepernick scramble for 14, 2 runs from Gore down to the Houston 2, then Dixon scored. I didn't realize it but Gore was apparently injured on his final carry of this drive, which may have been the reason Dixon was in the game.

3rd drive started with 55 seconds and 49ers were obviously trying to run out the clock - 3 straight runs by Hunter.

So yes, Kaepernick was 0-3 in that quarter and they only had 3 drives.

Sure we can. We didn't win one the other way.

We got back in the game with a more wide open offense. We forgot our identity in the first 3 games I'm not saying be a saints type of offense but with Kap I don't want to see an Alex Smith offense either. We need a balance IMO

I agree. I see Kap being handcuffed. He's not playing loose, his play on the field seems robotic.

I wonder if he was playing fast and loose last year because Harbaugh and Roman knew they had Alex Smith in the wings, now they have McCoy and whoever they pick up off the waiver wire. They might be telling him not to run.

I'd say 2 more field goals wins it.

Also, did he say that Schaub was a teammate? I probably heard wrong but that's what I think he said. Schaub did not go to Georgia nor did he ever play for the Steelers. So I'm assuming that that was not what he meant by that comment.

Matt Maiocco:

The 49ers have not announced any injury for Frank Gore, but he is definitely hobbling, favoring his left leg. It appears relatively minor.

We only have 135 yards of O, knew it wasnt much but wow

Kaepernick has really regressed. Doesn't even look in the middle of the field where davis is. Thank goodness for Frank Gore and a solid defensive effort.

It seems like we really haven't had the ball all that much lol And when we have it has been a pretty short field except for once I think

Lemonier knocked it loose it appeared

I don't know about that. To me his arms appeared to be on the opposite side of the camera like he was handing the ball back to the official. I suppose it's possible he somehow fumbled the exchange slightly, maybe even on purpose, but you couldn't tell that from the view we had. If he would've made it obvious, the official could've called a delay of game penalty on Lemonier, too. Given all that, I still tend to believe it was more or mostly the official's fault. Maybe just maybe a SLIGHT sly assist by Lemonier.

Kap has hit Davis twice I think. I don't know what your talking about, its not like he has had tons of chances

I feel like we are playing like the 2011 49ers. Very cautious run the ball play defense. Mind you I'm not complaining but we can't win a SB this way

Lets not look too far ahead we a a .500 team and need to win games... Hand cuffing Kap is a great move. After the Packer game he has shown he is a one read force the ball player and a guy that scrambles way to early instead of stepping up in the pocked. Long term success is all about hand cuffing him now.
