WOW what an interesting thread, and such over protection of Kirk Cousins to boot. Although Dad posted this for the "Anti-Kirk's" there are other reasons to take a look at this guy.

1. He's a major step-up from either of the back-ups that we currently have.

2. He presents legitimate competition at the position and almost assures us that Kirk won't come up with Riddick Bowe syndrome once he signs the big contract.

3. He adds another dimension to an already potent offense.

Taylor is currently rated the 17th best QB in the league. That doesn't suck. I imagine him getting another starting job or at least be serious competition somewhere. I think the Bills aren't happy that are paying him as much as they are. You could say the same thing in several other cities. Ravens fans aren't loving Flacco's contract either.

If Taylor were to come here he would have to accept a huge pay cut assuming that Cousin's is going to continue to get paid.

1. Why waste money on a backup when we have a very serviceable one in Colt, and contract friendly. Plus, KC never seems to get hurt. A high price QB sitting on your bench. We had that in RG3.

2. Why does KC at this point need to have competition? He has proven he is a very good starter in this league. Has improved each year. Do Brady, Luck, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Manning and some others have competition hanging over their shoulders each year becking to come in and take the reigns? Listen, Im not classifying KC as same as Brady or Rodgers but why have a QB pressuring KC. Why does he need that? Why does he constantly have to be questioned as our starter. Look at the records he has broken, the passing yards, the drive to win, the leadership he has shown.

3. This he does. Maybe he will at some point become a hybrid QB/WR as Pryor in Cleveland, but I doubt it will be here.

1. With very few, and I mean very very few exceptions NFL teams with major investments in starting QB's who give them the opportunity to go into and beyond in the playoffs don't prosper when that starter goes down. Just because they haven't been injured doesn't mean that it won't happen. Besides who said the we would have to pay a high price in order to get him? Beyond those two points, he improves our defense by giving them other things to look at in practice that neither of the slugs that currently back up KC can offer.

2. Explained in my original post....unless you have some unique insight as to how KC will respond to what amounts to be richer than several under resourced countries. Then it is still possible that he will become much like Flacco or worse Riddick Bowe or not, which is my point!

I assume you ate talking Dwayne Bowe. Riddick is a boxer.

Successful at the QB position is made on work ethic. KC seems to have just that.

NOPE...Riddick who was famously quoted as saying something like this: "It's hard to work out, when you're sleeping on silk sheets!"

" It's hard to get out of bed in the morning to go for a run when you're sleeping in silk sheets".

Huge man, easiest going guy in the world. Used to run into him once in awhile when he lived in Fort Washington. My buddy sold him several cars.

Obviously, I am a little bit biased. But I don't believe the gap between the two is that great. For all you haters, the stats don't lie. Kirk's stats are a little bit inflated because of the run/pass ratio of playcalls.

Tyrod's game reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson's. Taking off my Hokie homer glasses, I do prefer Kirk over TT. But we would be getting a solid, probably cheaper, option who IMHO has a higher ceiling (and probably a lower floor too) than KC has. I think he is a solid option IF we let KC walk.

Not sure why the Bills are trying to run him out of town? I guess because he cant put their suck-ass team on his back and carry them to victory every week all by himself...:noidea:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
KC is ranked 5th in QBR with a total Passer Rating of 97.2,
TT is ranked 9th in QBR with a total Passer Rating of 89.6

KC attempted 606 passes with a comp% of 67%,
TT attempted 436 passes with a comp% of 62%

KC passed for 4917 yds, 25 TDs, 12 ints
TT passed for 3023 yds, 17 TDs, 6 ints

KC rushed 34 times for 96 yds and 4 TDs with 1 lost fumble
TT rushed 95 times for 580 yds and 6 TDs with 1 lost fumble

Agree you are biased and why is anyone who thinks differently a hater. Most pussy comment of all time.

Taylor could work here but why? Is there a reason to change QBs?

No, but maybe, just maybe, Cousins might demand more money than he is worth?
Maybe he doesn't even want to be a Redskin when all is said and done?
How is that Houston contract looking with Osweiler right now? Although KC is a little bit more proven ... not too fucking good ehh?? This isn't Brady or Rodgers or Brees we are trying to resign here... get some clarity.

And don't be a fucking dick at me for pointing out that there might be an available QB that might be equally as good as KC. Yeah, the dude is a Hokie and I am a little biased, but there are plenty of QBs that are as good or better than Cousins. Hell, At times Colt McCoy has looked his equal...

I like Cousins, would love to keep him, but if he walks the world won't end. He is an average QB that can win some games, maybe even some championships. He has ALOT of weapons at his disposal. Who knows what he would be without some of them. But he isnt elite, never has been, never will be. Quit treating him as such.

And as far as the "haters" go...maybe that was a little harsh :suds:

Some of the posters stopped just an inch short of calling TT 'hot garbage'. Just pointing out (nicely) that they don't know what they are talking about.

You rarely win consistently with a QB at Taylor's level, I don't know how many more times this needs to be demonstrated. Kirk has shown for 2 years now that even with a pathetic defense you can still win provided the QB and the weapons are good enough.

I think Taylor has done pretty good considering his defense isn't much better than ours and that he has far less weapons he has to work. I think the W-L results would be similar with TT as a Skin.

Agree with @ehb5 here on Tyrod. Don't get the dismissive attitude regarding him at all.

He's around the same age as Kirk and has shown the ability to extend plays with his legs and throw the deep ball accurately.

One of the knocks on him seems to be that he lacks 'field vision' but is that an accurate assessment?

With the right pieces surrounding him and time, I think there's every possibility he will improve his play.

Want Kirk for the Skins but don't think Tyrod lacks talent either.

I saw Charley Casserly speaking on Taylor and he claimed that unlike Brees and Wilson. Taylor can't overcome his lack of height, he's listed at 6'1". I thought he looked better than decent in the few games I've seen him play. Can make all the throws, thorws a nice deep ball, knows when to take something off a pass. I'd take Kirk over him, but the comparison to Griffin kinda a cheap shot. He's a better runner than Griffin and a smarter player. He protecets the ball pretty well to imo TRhrew 6 INts and had 3 fumbles this year I think. And while he gave TT his shot. The thing that liklely hurts him the most is coaching.

Russell Wilson seems to be doing alright.

Win what? The crown of the shittiest division in football? The completion % title? Your fantasy football league cuz he threw for 400+ yards in a tie game? Clearly Scotty Mac, a guy who it seems 90% of the regular posters here thought was walking on water last year. Doesn't seem convinced.
