You're a funny guy. So done with thinking that a player who sucked somewhere else will somehow be an all pro here. We have an all pro in KC.

NOPE....Taylor is not the TYPE of guy that can replace KC. He has neither the body type, temperament, game management or similar skillset that closely matches or exceeds Cousins. The type of guy that replaces Kirk will be one that will have people scratching their heads trying to figure out who he reminds them of, in the same way that SM has seemingly drafted or signed players at RB that brings to mind similarities to beast mode (Marshawn Lynch)

I think Dad's point is for those looking to move on from Kirk this would be the type of alternatives we would be looking at. Which is odd seeing as he is the leader of the You Don't Need A Good QB club.

I dont think the gap between these two is even close to where you think it is. Tyrod doesnt suck and Kirk isnt an all pro.

Obviously I think we should stick with Kirk but I actually like Tyrod. Thats a pretty good QB to have hit the open market. Much better than the Osweilers, Hoyers, and Sanchezes of the world.

Coach, I still believe that the Sudfield pick was a wasted one. A lot of folks have bought into the whole "best player available" line of thinking, and I get that. However, taking that thinking to its' logical next question.....best player available to do what?" I would have to summize that his presence has no bering on the current composition of the team. By almost all accounts he is a project and that means, to be ready to compete at a future date for the top job. Considering the lifespan of NFL players, very few will be around when that time comes.

Even if the organization somehow became a power and knew that the TYPE of player that worked best in this system was one that closely mimmicked Kirk Cousins, do you or anyone really believe that Nate, effin' Sudfield comes close?

I'd bet that Taylor will be out of the league in the next few years. KC is a top 10 (maybe even a top 5 QB) over the last 30 games. The gap is huge. While maybe not an all pro (yet), KC will be a PB player this year. I doubt seriously that Taylor's name was ever mentioned in PB voting.

KC has great numbers over the past 30 games but I wouldnt say hes a top 10 QB. Hes probably in the 10-15 range IMO which by no means is bad. I actually think theyre somewhat similar. They both are solid guys who with talent around them can be very productive. Kirk is better IMO but neither is Aaron Rodgers and neither is Brock Osweiler. If Taylor is out of the league in a few years Id bet its because he doesnt fit the perfect image of what the NFL thinks a QB should be not because he isnt actually good enough. And he did make the PB last year.

You rarely win consistently with a QB at Taylor's level, I don't know how many more times this needs to be demonstrated. Kirk has shown for 2 years now that even with a pathetic defense you can still win provided the QB and the weapons are good enough.

The tyrod hate is very confusing. He's been very solid the past 2 years with much less to work with and much worse coaching than Kirk has. Again I prefer kirk but I'm not sure I get where people think tyrod is awful.

If tyrod was qb here I think we'd hear a lot of the same arguments we hear defending kirk about him being our best QB in a long time and that we should build a good team around him and give him a chance to win.

Agree with @ehb5 here on Tyrod. Don't get the dismissive attitude regarding him at all.

He's around the same age as Kirk and has shown the ability to extend plays with his legs and throw the deep ball accurately.

One of the knocks on him seems to be that he lacks 'field vision' but is that an accurate assessment?

With the right pieces surrounding him and time, I think there's every possibility he will improve his play.

Want Kirk for the Skins but don't think Tyrod lacks talent either.

I think at this point everyone knows what Tyrod Taylor is all about by now. He isn't awful, he will have a job in the league for many years as a backup. But like all backups the league has determined you can't win consistently with a QB like Tyrod Taylor, or Jay Cutler for that matter.
