It's a good football play, but I'm a bit annoyed with how the quarterbacks gets credit for touchdown passes from this place. Mahomes had two yesterday. And Goff had one today. Kapernick had three or four when he played for the Niners.
The only risk of an interception would be for a "receiver" to bobble the ball up in the air. There's no chance of a fumble because it would be a forward incomplete pass.
So it's a smart play, but I feel there's a windfall of credit for the quarterback when it really is the "receiver" and the offensive line credit. Yes, I realize of the quarterback makes pre-snap decisions and so they deserve some credit, but a handoff forward wouldn't get them any touchdown passes.
Yes, I know, if you want to get credit, just do it. I'm talking from a football standpoint. I don't see that as being a touchdown pass. I understand when quarterbacks throw the ball for 2 yards and they are taken to the house and they get credit when it was the receiver, but this seems ridiculous.
