I just read an article that said the Bengals were one of the teams making a major push for Kamerion Wimbley, the pass rushing LB who just signed a whopping $35 million deal with the Titans. If the Bengals were willing to make that kind of offer to a 2nd tier player it shows that they view their pass rush as a weakness and are serious about improving it. With the Bengals recent Free Agency signings (CB, OG, RB and S) it appears that they may be setting the table to select a pass rusher with one of their 1st Round picks. Could we see one of these players in stripes next season?

ESPN Player Rankings
ranked 17th- Courtney Upshaw DE 6'1⅝" 272 Alabama
ranked 19- Fletcher Cox DT 6'4" 298 Mississippi State
ranked 20- Andre Branch DE 6'4¼" 259 Clemson
ranked 22nd- Whitney Mercilus DE 6'3⅝" 261 Illinois
ranked 25th- Chandler Jones DE 6'5" 247 Syracuse
ranked 28th- Nick Perry DE 6'2¾" 271 USC

excerpt~

Cincinnati made a "significant offer" to pass-rusher Kamerion Wimbley before he signed a five-year, $35 million deal with the Titans, a couple of sources told the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Bengals were one of five teams who expressed interest in signing him along with the Patriots, Seahawks and Packers. Wimbley would have replaced Lawson as the team's strongside linebacker.

Ok, so the Bengals sign 2 DE's today. Does that mean a WR in the 1st?

Who knows what it means. I hope we get Michael Floyd personally but I don't see him being there. I still think we need an OG, WR, S, OLB, DT, CB. Not in that order.

I'd say there's a good chance we take a WR in the first 2 rounds.

I think we're definitely taking a receiver. We chose not to address it in FA, so unless we are really banking on Binns, it seems that's our pick. I think Floyd could be a good second receiver right away.

As long as the other pick is an O-lineman I could live with them taking another WR in round 1.

Give me Floyd over Wright easily every time. And twice on Sundays.
