Why dad? If he is clearly a better option at safety than the aforementioned Nicholson, Apke or Everett, all of which have not won a spot or cannot be counted on, then why not pull the trigger with a 3rd? Could be your starting FS on a rookie deal (yes, costing a pic) but for a starter, and a position of need. Then you can have decent depth with Nicholson, Everett & Apke. By the way, Apke proved he could not tackle last preseason. The "want to" doesn't just show up the next year.

I don't know if Simms is better at this point or not but here is what we all know about current WR core...

Doctson = Failed pick, on the way out.
Quinn = Could not stay healthy twice last year. Unknown.
Richardson = Hurt before he ever started. Unknown.
Simms = Could not stay healthy last year. Unknown.
McLaurin = Unknown.
Harmon = Unknown.
Davis = Has not been healthy. Unknown.

We do not have a vet go-to proven WR on this roster that can lead the way.
