I think it works in a lot of ways, but some of the conferences are too heavy while others are too light.

Nope, GT tried to get back into the conference years ago and Georgia wouldn't allow. Florida didn't want FSU either, so South Florida would never be asked to join the SEC. Besides, South Florida's athletic facilities are no where near SEC standards.

Heh heh. I did something like that, but I broke everyone up into groups of 4 and then created a playoff system. It was kind of like one season long World Cup style group play with like 20 teams in a conference broken up into groups. I named one conference the Heartland Conference and Dixie didn't like that.

Dixie thinks that because a bunch of Alabama refugees settle in the southeast 3 counties of Oklahoma after the civik war that Oklahoma is a "southern" state.

Well, obviously the list isn't perfect, but in a total realignment situation one teams wishes would likely be ignored.

Besides do you think UGA would rather have GT in conference or a team like Clemson? Clemson would pull way more recruits from Georgia than GT could ever hope to pull.

UF would have to bite the bullet & allow atleast one Florida team in. I don't see these situations any different than Bama & Auburn, Ole Miss & Miss St. or Tennessee & Vandy.

Well, it was the order I went in when preparing the list that caused that. I started with the SEC, then the ACC... and the Big 12 collapsing is what really stirs everything up. Also, I was trying to do it by region.

Clearly it's not perfect, my point is that with superconferences we could have a playoff.
