The Dolphins were still passing on the final play of the game. Why not just take a knee?

Unless both teams stop trying to score, neither team should. 7 minutes is plenty of time in the NFL. Not likely, but not impossible either. And since Miami had not stopped trying...

It is what it is

The main reason throwing it was wrong is mostly because it was stupid. Miami's enemy was the clock. Why not let it tick-tock away?

We are all used to the Pats trying to rub it in by now. It's dicky, but expected.

Every team tries to milk the clock but when they get close enough most if not all will try to score too. Just getting 3 and out's doesn't work well enough. Too many teams are let back in a game because of that kind of play.

Because the Dolphins need to score to win, the Pats don't. you have watched Football, right?

They were up what, 22? A FG makes it 4 scores?

So they are still trying to score.

As clearly stated before, I dont think either team should stop trying to score unless both teams have stopped.

And I have no problem with mlb teams stealing in the 8th with a 7 run lead. I've been to a game when the Os blew such a lead in the 9th.

If the team that's losing isn't taking a knee, ie conceding victory.... play on! It's not running up the score, it's building a lead.

Unless your argument is that no team has ever come back from a 3 td deficit with 7 minutes remaining... which would be dead wrong.

They needed to score to do what? Salvage their pride? That's about it. But that's ok. The idea of fighting until the bitter end is common in pro football.

So is the idea of treating the game as a 60 minute game. That's a common theme in pro football too.

Didnt the Eagles come back from 21 down with 8 minutes to go just a few seasons ago? DJax returned a punt for the game winner? I'm pretty sure they did.

This is the NFL. 60 minutes. Play to the final whistle.

No to win. The goal is to win. Miami needed to score to win. The Pats did not. The Pats simply needed the clock to run out...a pick 6 would be a bad place to start

Correct. Run out the clock. The clock is the Miami enemy. And you can run the ball and still try to score. No one said get to the one and then kneel on the ball. Passing is bad for multiple reasons (from sportsmanship to strategy)...

I have said my peace. To me if I was trying to really win the game I burn 3 more minutes off the clock instead of throwing.

Yes.. If 1 out of 6 plays are passes to extend a drive then it can be a worthwhile risk. The mantra is that it's a 60 minute game. A lot of teams believe that.
