Do you any concept of reading comprehension? Read my post again. I don't have a problem with anything as long as it doesn't negatively affect our team. Stevie Johnson was told to stop by HIS SUPERIOR and he didn't. That is my problem, not the act itself. What part of THAT action reeks of "team player" to you? I don't give a flying fuck if Victor Cruz does a salsa after each TD because he doesn't get flagged and it doesn't hurt his team.

If Harbaugh were to tell Johnson to stop with all the "ME!" shit and he continued, what do you think would happen?

In your 1st post you said you couldn't stomach the 15 yard penalty. The point I was going for was, the 15 yard penalty's significance is far over exaggerated. Obviously it's a hindrance to a team, but not as big of a deal that ESPN made it.

I understand from your 2nd post, the argument switched to defying authority, which I'm not arguing against. But a full month after the Jets incident Stevie Johnson does:

Now, if Johnson doesn't get flagged here (which IMO he shouldn't have been), he doesn't get taken out of the game. I say that because Johnson the very next week after the Burress/Jet celebration wasn't benched for pretending to pout as he returned the ball to the referee.

First off, I make distinctions between in game penalties and stupidity penalties. Facemask 15 yd penalty I don't fault the player because they are all flying around and shit happens. A TD penalty is a selfish act that is more "look at me!" then anything else. My original post said that I wouldn't be able to stomach the TD penalties. You can bitch about how the rules are over the top, but everyone in the NFL gets a rulebook and everything that Stevie Johnson does in the end zone is premeditated...which makes me question whether or not he is a team player.

15 yds back off the kickoff is pretty substantial if you take into consideration how our team is built and how offensively challenged our team is. Allowing the receiving team out to the 40 yd line IS a big deal.

Lastly, my original post was NOT my original argument. I was simply stating my opinion of Stevie Johnson signing with the Niners with generalized comments towards it. Once you questioned my post, I then gave you my original argument, which DID include SJ's defiance towards his superior. Don't try to change up and make it sound as if I have moved from my original position when all i did was clarify it.

Stevie-Bills meeting set
7:40AM ET
Steve Johnson | Bills

This week we've learned that there are some close to the Stevie Johnson negotiations who do not believe the Buffalo Bills will use the franchise tag on the WR. This is an important fact because based upon another report, the two sides remain far apart in their negotiations on a long-term pact.

The Bills and the reps for Johnson were expected to meet at the NFL scouting combine, and a source has revealed to WKBW-TV that this meeting will take place on Friday.

ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker sets the table:

- Tim Kavanagh

James Walker
This is crunch time for Johnson and the Bills

"Both sides have been negotiating on and off since the regular season. If progress isn't made at the combine, Johnson's chances of remaining a Bill look dim."

Stevie Johnson - WR - Bills

Bills GM Buddy Nix shot down speculation that the franchise tag is not an option for free agent WR Stevie Johnson.
"I read in the paper or somebody sent it to me the other day that we definitely were not going to tag him," Nix said. "I don't know who they talked to, I'd like to talk to them maybe see what we're gonna do with some of those other guys. ... Again, (the franchise tag) is an option. We've got until March 5 to decide." Nix confirmed that the Bills have rolled over salary cap dollars from last year, though he's reluctant to say how much.

Stevie Johnson - WR - Bills

The Buffalo News speculates that free agent Stevie Johnson is targeting $8 million a year on a long-term contract.
The Seahawks signed Sidney Rice for a hair over $8 million annually last year, but beat writer Mark Gaughan suggests the Bills "obviously ... have not been willing to get there so far." Coach Chan Gailey said Friday that he does not expect today's meeting with agent C.J. LaBoy to produce a "breakthrough" in talks.

Update on Stevie, Bills
7:45 AM ET
Steve Johnson | Bills

A report this weekend from WGR 550 indicated that the agent for Stevie Johnson had learned at the NFL scouting combine that the market for his client was not as brisk as once thought, and that this had reinvigorated negotiations with the Buffalo Bills. (And you thought tampering was bad for the incumbent team!).

Apparently they've worked diligently in the time since, as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter has reported that the two sides are close to agreeing to a five-year deal, a pact that could be signed early this week.

ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker delves into why this is good news for Buffalo:

- Tim Kavanagh

James Walker
Bills' WR corps would have been decimated

"This is big news for Buffalo, which lacks depth at receiver. Both sides have not been on common ground for a while, but the tide seemed to turn for the better at the NFL combine."

Source: 5-year deal for Stevie Johnson

The Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Stevie Johnson to a contract extension Monday, the team announced.

The Bills didn't disclose terms of the agreement, but a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Johnson received a five-year, $36.25 million deal that includes $19.5 million guaranteed and over $24 million in the contract's first three years.

"Done deal. Lets GOOOOOOO BUFFALO!!!! Fitzmagic better get his mohawk asap. Thanks to Mr Wilson, OBD, & the #BillsMafia," Johnson wrote on Twitter, also posting a link to a photo of him signing his new contract.

"Fitzmagic" is Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who welcomed Johnson back to the Bills by having "He's Back" shaved into the side of his head. Johnson posted a picture of Fitzpatrick's hair tribute in another tweet, writing, "My man Fitzmagic came thru for me & all of you. Had to sign...check it out. 13 isn't anything w/out14, now you see why."

Johnson, 25, led the Bills with 76 catches, joining Eric Moulds as the only Bills receivers to have 75 in consecutive seasons.

He also became the first Bills receiver in the franchise's 52-year history to post back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He finished with 1,004 yards.

Johnson, however, was penalized twice in five weeks for excessive touchdown celebrations -- the second leading to a benching by coach Chan Gailey for the final three quarters of a season-ending 49-21 loss at New England.

Information from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and The Associated Press was used in this report.

Colston and Vjax (better options than Stevie) are still possible

A lot of what I have read says Colston play primarily out of the slot. I was under the impression we wanted Crabtree to do that?
