Sterling makes the NFL HOF.

What do you think?

Personally... he had great impact in short period of time, but I do believe longevity plays a part and think he has 3-4 seasons that are HOF worthy including 3 AP 1st teams. For me, still not enough to be in the NFL HOF.

Terrell Davis is another... he really only had 4 full seasons (also 3 AP 1st teams) and 3 others... for me, again too short of career to be HOF worthy. David also has 2 Super Bowls... and reason why Denver probably won... so may have slightly better argument.

I've been championing for a LONG time that Sharpe should've been in the HOF. He was utterly dominant - before Favre. His production ramped into the stratosphere with Favre. First ballot HOFer Deion Sanders got repeatedly roasted by Sharpe every time they played and Sanders singled out Sharpe as the guy he never wanted to cover.

Sharpe broke the record TWICE for most receptions in a season while Jerry Rice was in his prime.

I don't usually care about HOF induction speeches & such, but I'm going to tune into everything I can with Sharpe's induction because it's a long-time-coming victory in my heart and mind.

CONGRATULATIONS, STERLING SHARPE! :suds:

Fair and all true, I still put a little more weight into longevity.

I was at the Jan 2, 1994 game in Detroit when he broke reception for 2nd time... my buddies and I had numbers counting how many receptions he had and we were being pelted by Lions fans behind us every time we stood up counting his receptions.
