Not sure how true this is and the O's were never parting with Westburg, Basallo or Mayo.
I’m surprised that Creed Willems isn’t mentioned more as trade bait. He seemed to start finding something while in Bowie and did very well in the AFL. He’s being blocked by both Adley and Basallo, so it’d be easy to part with him.

Not that Westburg didn't break out but I think there is more. Perhaps one of the 3, Westburg, Cowser or Holiday break out in a big way this year.

According to baseballtradevalues.com's model, the estimated values for these players at the beginning of 2025 are as follows:
  • Dylan Cease 33.6M
  • Jordan Westburg 59.1M, Coby Mayo 43.7M, Samuel Basallo 17.6M
So even a one-to-one swap involving Westburg or Mayo would be a gross overpay. Interestingly, someone suggested this trade that would be fair on paper:
  • Mountcastle (8.2 M) + Povich (16.9 M) + Dylan Beavers (8.2M) for Cease
While this seems tempting, the main downside is that the Padres probably won't accept it... plus that this could end up as another "Ortiz and Hall for Burnes" situation (i.e. another rental), which is why the Orioles should look for other options.

Definitely agree with this
