There was the time - Springstein scooped up a fumble and ran the wrong way for a TD - hence the nickname - Wrong Way Springy. It turned out not to be a fumble either - just a ball rotation from the refs - during a commercial break.

Remember that time George picked up the yard marker thinking it was a sucker. He was seen licking the yard marker as he ran into the locker room at the end of the first quarter. Doofus thought it was half time.

I recall Springer being the last to wear what he called a real helmet. He threatened to protest when they switched to fasemasks, but we had no national anthem at the time. They all just stood around, staring blankly into the stands until the announcer called the captains to mid field.

I knew Springstein wouldn't make in the pros - no womanizing - no jail time, never suspended from anything, clean drug tests, perfect attendance at study hall and the guy who won the 5th grade Blue Ribbon for being the most diligent hall monitor.

To top it all off for the poor guy - he was a devote Bronco's fan in 2017 (what that must feel like).
