This is true, but it was growing up in Tennessee that was the incentive for them to risk their lives in Texas
"Ya'll can go to hell, I'm goin' to Texas!" ... Davy Crockett
It's not letting me vote, do you have to have a certain amount of posts to vote?

Garnered all that "glory" playing against weaker competition in the SWC and B12-2...
The most storied football program. On the strength of Neyland alone, it's Tennessee.
Yes, this is a homer post from a Tennessee alum. So...?
Balderdash. Embrace Tennessee as your beloved cousins, or hang your long horns in shame. 'T' for Texas, 'T' for Tennessee.Big 12 East was the best division in football for awhile. Tenn heyday came when the SEC was down. They played Vandy, UK, and South Carolina in division. Those were horrible programs.
Balderdash. Embrace Tennessee as your beloved cousins, or hang your long horns in shame. 'T' for Texas, 'T' for Tennessee.
Davey Crockett commands your respect and fidelity. The effectiveness of he and his US volunteers was noted and appreciated by Alamo Commander, William Barret Travis, who continued to provide them precious powder and shot even as supplies dwindled during the siege.
Knowing you affinity for Texas and being of generous spirit, Volunteer fans were willing to let this pass, but, you've now made it front and center.Just realized I said Big 12 east. No idea where that came from, should have been South
It's a cruel, cruel world when you get Texas and Tennessee matched up against each other. Just brutal.
I am kin to Davey Crockett. True story.Balderdash. Embrace Tennessee as your beloved cousins, or hang your long horns in shame. 'T' for Texas, 'T' for Tennessee.

One of my buddies is a OU fan. He has a lot of family here from Tulsa...all big OU fans.My neighbor is a huge Tennessee fan.....in more ways than one. He's about 6'2" and has to be pushing 350 lbs. He always wears his Volunteers football jersey on game days. I've asked him countless times how a school with all the tradition that Tennessee has, all those fans, that beautiful stadium and the beautiful women like his wife can't seem to win big time championships on a consistent basis. He mumbles something about being National Champions in 1998. Now he does the same thing to me and I just mumble something about being National Champions in 2000.
