Damn! No wonder alcohol content in beer is so high in Canada. They build up that tolerance early! Fuck McDonalds, your meal is truly the "Happy" meal!

Saw it last night. Wasn't great but wasn't bad. Not Norm's best work but still pretty good. Reminded me a lot of when he use to do weekend update, except it had a strictly sports theme. I'll definitely tune in again. Hopefully we'll see a few hockey jokes once in a while. ;)

Isn't Norm a hockey fan? I can't recall where, but I thought i saw that.

I believe he is a hockey fan. If you've ever seen Dirty Work, there's a scene where he's confused to see someone wearing his Habs jersey. Then he realizes its because his girlfriend is kicking him out and was throwing out all his stuff. I realize he didn't write the movie but I'm sure he had at least a little creative input for minor stuff like that.

Also he hosted the 1998 Espy's and made a joke about how he was so excited about the Winter Olympics to watch "lots of great winter sports like hockey, and......ummm well just hockey really".

Oh yeah! Also on his sitcom that lasted maybe 2 seasons he played an ex pro-hockey player turned social worker.

I missed episode 2 but watched the 3rd last night. I thought it was pretty awful, much less funny than the first.

That's Comedy Central for you. South Park, Daily Show, Colbert, and then a slew of other shows that rarely last more than a season. I watched one of Norm's episodes, it wasn't the greatest. But it's better than another Futurama rerum.

deadspin has a funny "highlights of writing the sport show pilot" story

• We were in one of the offices and Norm was chewing on these Pepto Bismol tablets. He had a bottle of them open in his hand and he was just eating them like they were Tic Tacs or something. Finally, someone in the room piped up.

WRITER: Norm, what are you doing? That's medicine. Did you eat the whole bottle?

NORM: Yeah.

WRITER: Why?

NORM: (with pink foam literally coming out of his mouth) I don't know.
