are really making a huge difference this year. The punting has been changing field position... Lee caused at least two fair catches at the ten yard line today with his hangtime. Meanwhile Ginn has been great at returning punt returns and setting up good field position, with two good returns today.
The signing of Akers was huge. We saw what a good kicker does for a team at the end of the first half... Hansen missed a 52yder and Akers hit a 55yder... a six point swing in the span of one minute. Worse, the miss by Hansen set up the Niners in good field position to make the field goal. If he would have hit that kick, Detriot would have been up by four at half instead of down by 2.
