And actually, 4.3 is pretty far off from 5+

Guys who made 2nd half starts that year:

Kason Gabbard, Jason Johnson, Devern Hansack, Kevin Jarvis, Kyle Snyder, Lenny Dinardo....

Mazz is a bit of an idiot, and this is him just hedging his bets...all year he's been saying they're only winning 85 games...even now he's holding on to it...barring a rash of injuries, I don't see how they fail to win at least 90...

Jason Johnson is probably the worst pitcher I've ever seen in a Red Sox uniform...it's him or Abe Alvarez...

Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati didn't host the only no-hitter in professional baseball on Tuesday. Hours before Homer Bailey completed his gem, Daniel Stumpf fired a seven-inning no-hitter for the Lexington Legends (KC), who won 1-0 in game one of Greenville's doubleheader. Stumpf faced the minimum 21 batters, as Aneury Tavarez reached on a walk in the second inning and was promptly erased on a stolen base attempt.

Frank Montas was the tough-luck loser, falling to 1-7 on the year. The hard-throwing right-hander allowed just one run in six innings, coming on a first-inning solo home run. Montas struck out six and walked four in the loss.

In his 10.1 career MLB innings.

Abe Alvarez struck out 5...and gave up 5 home runs.

And opponents had a 1.360 OPS against him....

Fuck me...
