Some fun Crosby-Ovechkin predictions....

OK, I am going ot tread on thin ice here for the first time and bring up a comparison between the two, but it is in good fun and I think that it may be fun to try and project, as this coming season could be loaded with milestones for both. Here goes:

WHICH HAPPENS FIRST??

1. Ovechkin gets his 300th goal (currently 269)
Crosby gets his 200th goal (currently 183)

I am going with Crosby on this one as he showed a lot more goal scoring prowess last season and he may have to be a bulky contributor next year as well with a lack of top flight wingers.

2. Crosby gets his 400th assist (currently 323)
Ovechkin gets his 300th assist (currently 260)

I am going with Ovechkin on this one as 77 assists is still a lot, especially if Crosby plays the sniper again (which I forsee)

3. Ovechkin gets his 600th point (currently 529)
Crosby gets his 600th point (currently 506)

I am taking Ovie in this one as well as I just feel that they will be toe to toe for most of the season and Ovie has a head start.

4. Crosby gets his 400th PIM (currently 354)
Ovechkin gets his 400th PIM (currently 306)

Tough call but I am going with Crosby although Ovie has an upward trend recently because of Crosby's significant head start


Of these, I think that all will fall this year, minus Ovie's 400th PIM and Crosby's 400th assist.

I think that "Sedin" is the general term of approval while "Nylander" or "Nyls" for short is the Swedish term for non-approval.

Actually I think Lidstrom roughly translates to "Legend".

And Backstrom transates to...."overshadowed"

"Lidstrom" has two meanings, depending on whether we're talking Northen Swedish or Southern Swedish. I was going with the "perfect" definition.
