Here's a list of some big names, and some that can be solid starters potentially:

1.) Jay Cutler: Might retire but I assume he could get a backup job some where.
2.) Revis: Showed great signs of slowing down last season despite not being that old. Not sure if anyone will give him a chance.
3.) Vincent Jackson: Injured the last two season so he might be done.
4.) Jeremy Maclin: Dude is still outstanding when healthy the problem is he's rarely healthy. Might thrive in a role playing the slot with rep maximums to prevent injuries
5.) Sam Shields: Only 29 years old but has concussion issues and he might not risk playing again to risk permanent damage
6.) Brandon Flowers: 31 and suffered injuries last two seasons
7.) Erik Walden: OLB in the 3-4 defense had 11 sacks and 3 FF's last season and hasn't had any real significant injuries.

Out of all the players the only one I think the Packers should give a 1 year deal to is Walden. I think he can be a backup to Nick Perry and Clay Matthews just like Julious Peppers was the last season or two.

always liked Walden and think he has enough gas in the tank to be a good sub

As much as I hate to say it, perhaps it's time to trade CMIII for draft picks and pick up Walden for cheaper. Walden has been improving and is playing at an all time best level and doesn't get injured. CMIII is playing at an all time low, getting worse annually and has been injured every year for the last 3-4 seasons. It's like the Packers are waiting for him to become the CMIII of old but that's just not going to happen. I say we trade him to the Rams who need a pass rusher on the outside and collect at least something for him like a 3rd rounder and a 5th round draft pick or something instead of wasting 10 mil a year for a 3rd down player that is injured majority of the year and is lucky to make on good play every other game. Walden with Perry, Vince, Elliot and Frackell will be a very good group of OLB's. We should give Walden a 2 year deal worth 8 or 9 million.

How has no one picked up Nick Mangold by now? He's not what he was but you'd think someone desperate for oline help would take a flyer on the guy.

An ex-Jet? I'd suggest he offer himself with Kaepernick - you know, as a 2 for 1 deal?

Cutler has a job so I'm doubting he is coming back.

Too many question marks with these players. Some may be worth a one year deal with an option.

It all depends on his asking price.

yeah u wonder on some of these vets if they are just holding out so they dont have to do training camp
That is part of it but most of them want one more big payday.

Asking price? Injury history? Stated unwillingness to switch positions?

It could be any one of or all three of those issues that have kept him from landing a roster spot.

Still a lot of good talent available for sure. Got to think with training camps starting soon we may see people getting signed.

Any word on Erik Walden? I hope we can get him for a 2 year deal at OLB. With 11 sacks and 3 FF's he would be much better than Clay Matthews has been over the last 2 years. I mean he had his worst season of his career and Walden had his best season ever. Time to trade CMIII and hire Walden. Get on the ball TT.
