I would prefer a bottom six of

Galiardi - Moore - Wingels
Winnik - Handzus - Desjardins/Winchester

Nothing to write home about but better than what they had.

When healthy I think the defense will be:

Boyle - Vlasic
Burns - Demers
Braun - Murray

White in the rafters and the rest is gravy.

Yeah... White and Mitchell both on the bench?

Would be fantastic but would never happen, IMO...

It will probably be Mitchell in the line up instead of Wingels unfortunately. It also wouldn't surprise me if Galiardi gets a long look along side Thornton and Pavelski to try and gain more depth.

Galiardi - Thornton - Pavelski
Marleau - Couture - Clowe
Wingels/Mitchell - Moore - Havlat
Winchester/Desjardins - Handzus - Winnik

I agree about Galiardi (see Trade thread).

I hope it's like this:

Galiardi-Thornton-Pavelski
Marleau-Couture-Clowe
Wingels-Handzus-Havlat
Winchester-Moore-Winnik

Murray-Boyle
Burns-Braun
Demers-Vlasic

Call me what you will but, looking at the roster, I don't hate the assemblage of talent and the way the pieces fit together. If they can't compete in the playoffs it won't be because they aren't able, it will be because they aren't willing and continue to play as they have.

It is a line up that has all the talent and all the pieces to compete against the best teams in the league. Now, weather or not they have the desire or the coaching is another question.

...or they didn't get enough time to gel. TM is a line juggling maniac, God only knows how long Havlat will need, and our D needs to have the scrubs on the bench ASAP.

I completely agree with you. You look at that line up and there is a lot of depth, and speed also mixed in on every line now. If the sharks can some how find a way to get hot when they get healthy they can become dangerous. I also like the idea of having galiardi on the first line.2 energy players along thornton will hopefully get thornton interested to play hockey again. And wasn't Havlat and Hanzus starting to connect before havlat got injured?

I like the line up when fully healthy

however, the guys still need to get their heads together and play for a full 60

we'll probably see this for a while

Galliardi/Havlat - Jumbo - Pavs
Patty - Clowe - Couture
Galliardi/Havlat - Handzus - Moore
Winnick - Desjardins - Winchester

Mitchell and Wingels healthy scratches. I think desjardins and winchester have played so far for a 4th line.

Vlasic - Boyle
Burns - Demers
Braun - Muarry/ White/ Vandermeer

Niemi is still Niemi. No upgrade there, unless he will actually see less shots. Is DW related to Billy Beane? The moves they make are rarely of the blockbuster variety.

Thornton, Heatley, Guerin and Burns say what??? lol.

DWil is quiet as all hell on UFA day as far as signing big name UFA's (ala Billy Beane), but he makes some huge blockbusters at or before the deadline or after UFA starts.

Dont forget Campbell too. And Boyle in the offseason. This is the first time in years we havnt been treated to the top trade of deadline day.

I'm sure Wilson tried. Thank goodness Howson didn't budge from his asking price.

My idea of blockbuster is trading a guy that no one expects, for either an immediate upgrade or for multiple prospects/picks. I would have loved to see Thornton or Marleau gone. On a lesser note, Niemi or Pavelski.

Unfortunately Galiardi is more of a playmaker than a sniper. The Sharks already have one guy on the first line who doesn't like to shoot. Not sure how effective that line would be adding another.
