AHL discontinues "hybrid icing" rule experiment that had been in place this season. Will cease to be in effect following Thursday's games. Release from AHL said that reaction had been positive, but it wanted consistency with NHL to ease transitions

that's a shame. from the few AHL games I saw, it made a lot of sense, and did not take away from the puck races at all.

Why wouldn't they want it to get better mpg? Seem's crazy to discontinue it.

Grapes will not be happy about this.

Grapes has been calling for no-touch icing for some time now and I agree with him that the NHL should adopt it. The kids are playing with it in junior hockey and international hockey has no-touch icing, time for the NHL to bring it in as well.
