Hybrid Icing Approved

Hybrid icing will be in effect for the start of the 2013-14 NHL regular season after it was approved by the players, deputy commissioner Bill Daly said on NHL Live. The NHLPA gave the go-ahead for the rule change that makes icing a race to an imaginary line across the faceoff dots instead of the puck, which was given a trial run during the pre-season. :confused2:

A little surprising with all the reports saying it was doubtful the NHLPA would approve it since the interviews with players seemed to indicate they didn't really like it.

Say what?!?! Yea. have to agree with Pete, not enough of a sample size to make this into a rule just yet.
