So how do you think it would really be like facing a professional pitcher?

Great angle. I faced a 96mph pitch and the guy went on to pitch...made AAA

I knew then that I baseball wasn't going to be my living.

Lol

Yeah, quite a few years ago a friend of mine was friends with a guy who was a minor league pitcher. I got a chance to try to bat against him and told him to throw me his fastball and don't hold back...all I can say is that I heard the ball go by, but I didn't actually see it go by. lol

Yeah, just saw my drunk post. In HS played against what was ranked the number one HS.team in the nation. Same school A Rod went to. Had at least 3 players that played in the majors. When that thing comes in like that...well I knew I wasn't going to be doing that for a living.

I have, Although I can't say he topped out at 100mph because I don't think he ever did. I have coached a few also that made it to the bigs AAA teams. I really didn't take a few swings though, mostly catch but we did go to a LL field and stood in there, damn exciting.
Got to throw on a MLB catcher too.
I've had a great history playing with athletes not just MLB , they're just normal people who do something different

I used to play local recreational hockey for fun. We weren't very good, but it was fun and good exercise. I was a goalie. Once in a while a real NHL player between teams or after his pro days were over would show up. I could stop him once in a while if I got lucky, but he wasn't going all out.

Shit, even Lesbian Ally from one of the local women's teams could beat me easiily if she got a clean shot.

Back in the day, Cooperstown had pitching machines set up to mimic the current best pitchers. There was a Valenzuela screwball, Carlton slider, Blyleven curveball, and Nolan Ryan fastball.

I'm somewhat proud to say that I managed a foul tip off Ryan. I will not mention how many pitches it took lol

I was hitting slow pitch softballs at the batting cage. I went by the baseball machine and it was only set to 80. Even though I played high school baseball there wasn't a chance I was touching even an 80 MPH fastball.

I got to play for a few months against Dave Logan, a retired Blackhawks player who ended up being Bobby Orr's defense partner in those twilight years. It was strictly recreational, but we all had fun. I usually couldn't stop him. The hard thing was going in to see his wife, who was at the game, and explaining the injury he got. "Oh, that's OK, we're used to it." I didn't know she was a professional hockey wife, too.

My Sunday coed team that plays every other season ( they have spring, summer and fall seasons) has Terrell Owens ( football WR) on it. He's quite the athlete but he makes contact once out every three swings, which in slow pitch isn't very good, but when he does make contact it usually goes pretty far. The funniest times are when he hits what for most of us would be a single, but he just keeps running and he turns a single into a triple or home run most of the time because he's so fast.
