Well, he will certainly be reprimanded by the league. Has a history with these type offenses dating to college. If he wants another chance in the NFL maybe he will clean his act up. I would think we have Floyd on our roster now in Mo Harris though. I would like to see more of Harris than take a flier on Floyd.

Um - no. This is 2nd DUI & I am not betting against him getting another one. This shows extremely poor judgment on his part, and he was not having a good season. Pass.

15 drops, sloppy routes, & 6 holding penalties this season.

He just hasn't been the same since dislocating his fingers during the 2015 preseason. He needed surgery but returned in week 2 that season. It took him till midseason before he started producing like his normal self. 2014 slight decline can be attributed to Palmer being out for the year.

He is talented, but there must be something going on in his personal life.

I would kick the tires, but despite the DUI, he aint going to come cheap. And not sure we could make a roster spot for a three (hopefully more) game rental who might be suspended for those games in any case.

you wait til next season, you get into a price war over his services. You catch him now, you can leverage his mishap and possibily get him on a deal that will cost LESS than the guy we would be bringing him in to replace

It would have to be one hell of a deal with lots of outs to cover all of the risks he brings.

If anyone can sympathize with Floyd, it is Scot. Remember, he is no stranger to DUIs. Who knows, maybe they can go have a beer and hammer things out (pun intended).:suds:

What happened to the whole idea of them advocating bringing in quality type people? Has that gone out the window? It is not so much the DUI that concerns me - it is the manner in which it occurred & the lack of judgement. Honestly - falling asleep at a traffic light at 2 am? Was he begging for a DUI? Considering that he already had one in his past why didn't he take the free ride, take UBER or stay at a hotel?

I am not perfect & am not trying to pass judgement - just concerned about the red flags that come with this guy. Oh well - don't think that they will pursue him anyhow - we will see.

Do you think Scot considers himself a quality guy? If so, it would be a bit hypocritical to label another as not given Scot has suffered the exact same issues. Also, if you listen to the Cards teammates, the all speak highly of Floyd as a team leader and great locker room guy. He may just have an issue that he is struggling to deal with. That doesn't mean he is low quality, just has baggage.

Scot McCloughan: 'I'm Looking For The Best Football Players'

I am not making the judgment. Consider what SM said in this article & he has said similar many times:

McCloughan said. “I know I keep reiterating on it but high-character football players; that are tough guys. That understands that it’s about the sum of parts not the individual."

Perhaps you are rt about Floyd but it is not as if this was only recently. He had his fist DUI in college and that was quite a while ago. Again - not really questioning the DUI but more how it occurred & why this guy didn't find another way to get home. It raises serious doubts about whether this will occur again. Am I (or anyone else) wrong for having those doubts? Is it completely irrelevant?

You are right in being concerned. I guess my point is on your definition of "quality guy". I'm not necessarily ready to label someone with a drinking problem a non quality guy. Domestic violence, locker room issues, lack of respect for teammates, coaches, fans, etc. are huge red flags. And given that our own GM, who you have expressed unwavering support for, has this exact same issue raises my eyebrows.

I am not claiming to be a saint myself. However - are we to the pt where not getting along w/ guys in the locker room is viewed as being worse than someone who potentially could have killed someone due to his lack of good judgment? If Floyd had say passed out somewhere other than at the stoplight that could have been the case. I know someone who recently caused a lot of injuries because he fell asleep at the wheel & had enough alcohol in them to be past the legal limit. This easily could have happened here.

I can deal with Floyd having a drinking issue & not really worried about that. It is the drinking & driving (again) so late at nt when all that he had to do was call up the NFL ride program or UBER. Very, very poor choice & it makes you wonder.

On a personal level, yes, putting yourself in position to kill somebody is worse. On a team level, being viewed as an ass hole by your team is worse for the team.

Yep understand all that & again I am not trying to judge his abuse issues just his extremely poor judgment since there is a very good chance that it will cause issues (that might affect the team) in the near future. Again - don't think it matters since I don't see the Redskins making a move to get this guy.
