Seahawks have had no trouble bottling up guys like Boldin, Jordy Nelson, Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant, etc

But the speedy wrs have killed us

Last year

Wes Welker - 10 rec 138 yds 1 td
Titus Young - 9 recs 100 yd 2 tds

Now we see TY Hilton go off against us for 5 rec 140 yds 2 tds

I don't know how Hilton got so open on that first TD catch, but the second one was just a great throw by Luck. Not much you can do about that.

It was clearly a blown coverage and I believe Browner was supposed to be covering him with FS help. The reaction by Sherman led me to believe that, but I don't know... have to watch the replay on that one.

The first one looked like bad zone defense.

Don't forget Cecil Shorts this year.

He had 8 catches for 143 yards.

Much to my surprise he is listed at 6'0 202lbs, would've guessed a few inches shorter but he sort of fits the bill.

It was actually blown coverage, I believe, by either Sherman or Thomas. I re-watched that play and Sherman is yelling someting to Thomas and as the play develops Sherman let's Hilton go and Thomas didn't cover.

Shorts didnt start getting catches until our backups went in, he was bottled up pretty well for most of the game.

The Hawks held Steve Smith to 6 catches and only 51 yards in game one. Sproles does offer a unique challenge though. He is very, very quick and can make insane cuts when he has the ball. Thankfully Irvin is back because he is very fast as well. Earl Thomas is another guy who can probably keep up with Sproles.

I say they should give him the Wes Welker treatment from last year and just punish him any time he's near the ball. Make him scared to be anywhere near that ball.

Anyways, they have tons of time between now and that game to prepare so no sense worrying about it right now. Focus on Tennessee and their receivers for the time being.

It's not just the receiver. It's the QB-WR combination.

Not every team has a Luck and Hilton.

The first TD was blown coverage. You could see Sherman and Thomas both trying to figure out who blew it and later on the secondary coach was talking to both. Browner was just a great throw... perfect passing beats perfect coverage... just the way it is.

That said, yah, small speedy guys have definitely sliced us good in the past and still seems to be an issue.
